A now 33-year-old Rory McIlroy is a 20-time PGA Tour winner, four-time major champion, six-time Ryder Cupper, and a dad. This time last year, McIlroy celebrated his 19th Tour win on Mother’s Day, his wife Erica’s first as a mom.
To say the win was special is an understatement.
Since that weekend, the Northern Irishman has added another win to his resume, the CJ Cup played last October.
It’s funny to look back on a young McIlroy — no Nike in sight, long curly hair flowing from his hat, and a kid that seemed to play the game without a care in the world.
On his birthday, it seemed fitting to look back at some of the best shots he’s pulled off throughout his career.

Needing a birdie to force a playoff at the 2014 Honda Classic, McIlroy stuck a 5-wood to 10 feet from over 230 yards. Not bad.
With a record purse on the line, and needing a few more circles on the card coming home, McIlroy did this on 16 at East Lake at the 2016 Tour Championship.
On his way to winning the 2018 Arnold Palmer Invitational, McIlroy birdied five of his last six holes to cement the victory. This was the moment it looked to be locked up.
