Stephen Colbert dunks on Facebook’s name change to Meta
Facebook will officially be Facebook no more, with CEO Mark Zuckerberg announcing on Thursday that the tech company is changing its name to Meta. Of course, a turd by any other name would smell as bad, but it’s the rebranding that counts.
“Along with the new name they have a new logo,” said Late Show host Stephen Colbert, displaying Meta’s warped infinity symbol. “And of course, since this is the internet, in less than one minute somebody drew a penis on it.”
The name “Facebook” won’t be completely gone though, just moved down in priority.
“From now on, we’re going to be the metaverse first,” said Zuckerberg. “Not Facebook first.”
