How to Catch the Swords of Justice in ‘Pokémon Sword and Shield’ Crown Tundra DLC

While just about every Legendary Pokémon can be caught via the Dynamax Adventure, the Swords of Justice from the Unova region can be found via a special side mission in The Crown Tundra DLC.

Cobalion, Virizion, Terrakion and Keldeo, the members of the Swords of Justice, can only be caught in Pokémon Sword and Shield using this special side mission–unless you’re using Pokémon Home, of course.

Here’s where and how to catch all four Legendary Pokémon in The Crown Tundra.

HOW TO CATCH THE SWORDS OF JUSTICE IN THE CROWN TUNDRA

After finishing the Calyrex story, head back to Freezington to talk with Peonia to check off the mission as complete. When you leave Freezington, you’ll find Sonia waiting on the outskirts. Speak to her to start a brand new side mission to find the Swords of Justice.

Sonia will explain that she has been researching the four special Legendary Pokémon from the Unova region and has followed their tracks to The Crown Tundra. Because it’s so cold, she asks if you can track down the Swords of Justice so she can rest.

She shows you the tracks of the Pokémon on the ground and you’ll need to find three different ones scattered throughout The Crown Tundra. Each track fills up your research by 2 percent, so you’ll need to find 50 of them to get the Legendary Pokémon to appear.

How to catch Virizion

Virizion’s tracks can be found in the Giant’s Bed of The Crown Tundra and the nearby areas. The easiest way to find the tracks is to find the first pair. Once you select it with the A button, another pair of nearby tracks will populate.

The Grass and Fighting-type Pokémon comes at Level 70 and has the attacks Sacred Sword, Swords Dance, Leaf Blade and Close Combat.

How to catch Terrakion

Terrakion’s tracks can be found in the Lakeside Cave, Ballimere Lake and nearby areas. Find 50 pairs of Terrakion’s tracks to have the Legendary Pokémon appear in the Lakeside Cave.

The Rock and Fighting-type Pokémon can be encountered at Level 70 and comes with the attacks Sacred Sword, Swords Dance, Stone Edge, Close Combat.

How to catch Cobalion

The leader of the Swords of Justice, Cobalion’s tracks can be found in Frigid Sea, Roaring-Sea Cave and nearby areas. Find 50 pairs of Cobalion’s tracks to have the Pokémon appear in the Frigid Sea.

Cobalion, the Steel and Fighting-type Pokémon, appears at Level 70 with the attacks Sacred Sword, Swords Dance, Iron Head and Close Combat.

How to catch Keldeo

The fourth and youngest member of the Swords of Justice, Keldeo, does not require trainers to find its tracks. Instead, if you have Virizion, Terrakion and Cobalion in your party you can head to the Ballimere Lake.

On a small island in this area, trainers will find an empty pot in which you can make curry. Do so and Keldeo will appear to battle.

Keldeo is a Water and Fighting-type Pokémon that comes at Level 65 with the attacks Sacred Sword, Swords Dance, Secret Sword and Hydro Pump.

The Crown Tundra for Pokémon Sword and Shield is available now for Nintendo Switch.
